Younique is a cosmetic company that was founded back in 2012 by brother/sister team, Derek Maxfield and Melanie Huscroft. The company itself was founded with the mission to empower and encourage women to be comfortable with who they are. Moreover, Younique does not test their products on animals, but instead, uses an array of natural ingredients to promote healthier skin.

I only hopped on this bandwagon back in late 2015, but in that short period of time, I have grown to love Younique products and the message that stands behind them. Since I first started using Younique, I have had the opportunity to try a fair few of their products and I can honestly say that they have yet to disappoint.

Perhaps my favorite product by Younique is their Moodstruck Addiction Eyeshadow Palette. The palette that is featured in this post is the second in the series. However, I will say that the first of these that I ordered was the number 3 palette, but it has long since been used and emptied #sorrynotsorry. When I finished the first palette, I instantly knew I needed another. I opted for the number 2 palette because I adored the neutral tones and it has been loved just as much as the first one! The pigmentation for these palettes are subtle, but can be built upon. This makes the Moodstruck Palettes awesome for those of us looking for a casual daytime look and a sophisticated evening look all in one palette.

Another one of my favorite Younique products is their eyeshadow Crease Brush. Now, I’ve got to tell you, I usually stay clear of makeup brushes when I’m out on a splurge; but, that’s only because I have a good few already and don’t need more of the same. But, this brush is different for everything else in my collection so I figured that I could make an exception. Unlike other crease brushes I have tried, this brush is firm yet soft, making it easy to create any look without the mess that other, flimsier brushes tend to create.

Another great product by Younique is the 3D Fiber Lash Mascara. I have really straight, thin eyelashes so I need a mascara that really gets my lashes looking full. That is exactly what this product does, which is why I love it so much! I have tried SO many mascaras throughout the years, but this is the only one that gives me the full lashes that I have been looking for. Now, Younique has changed their formula for this product since I started using it. That being said, I would still highly recommend this product for anyone who wants a fuller look from their mascara.

The Touch Mineral Liquid Foundation and Pressed Powder are two more lovely Younique products. I’ve only started using these two together recently and, I’ve got to say, this pair works wonders for the appearance of my skin. The foundation itself goes on a bit sheer, but again, you can build up for better coverage. For that reason, this product is great for those who, like me, enjoy a lighter coverage from their foundation. When finished off with the Touch Mineral pressed powder, skin looks flawless and feels great!

Younique also has awesome lipsticks and lip stains. My personal favorite is Affluent from the Moodstruck Opulence Lipstick Collection. When I first came across this shade, I was looking for a lipstick that was similar to that of the brown shades that everyone has been rocking on their lips this year. Seeing how I wasn’t feeling brave enough to sport a brown lip color just yet, I decided on Affluent because I felt that it was a nice middle ground between the softer shades that I usually wear and the bold color that comes in a brown lipstick.

Now, as a lip stain kind of girl, I wasn’t expecting too much from this product. I thought it would be great for the when I wanted a little extra flare, but I still figured that I would choose a stain over this. However, this product took me by surprise because I find myself reaching for this just as often as I do my favorite lip stain. I think what I really love about this product is that my lips don’t feel dry and heavy when I have it on, which is why I tend to stick to lip stains in the first place. Instead, this lipstick makes my lips feel soft and buttery which is a huge plus for me.

So, as said before, lip stains are my go-to for lip color. With that in mind, I figured that I could not write this post without mentioning my favorite Younique lip stain: the Stiff Upper Lip Stain in the color Shy. This stain goes on very wet when applying but dries very quickly once it’s on. That being said, a little goes a long way, which is why I love this product so much. Moreover, this product is really rich in color and keeps for a long while without reapplying.

The final product by Younique that I have been loving lately is the Beachfront Self-Tanning Body Lotion. Naturally, I have a pretty pale complexion, so self-tanners are a bit of a holy grail for me during the summer months. I usually go for a gradual self-tanner because I find that they look a bit more natural than most instant self-tanners. However, I will admit that I was curious about Younique’s Beachfront Self-Tanner, so I decided to give it a go. When I did, I found that this product gave me an instant glow that looked natural and warm, not orange like I had expected. I still do use my gradual self-tanners a bit more regularly than I use this product, but I do think that this is great to even out my current or to help give myself a bit of color in a pinch. I definitely will be buying this again!
